Yoga touchscreen not working after uninstalling usb 3.0 root

2014-01-29, 14:37 PM

Whiel trying to get a docking station to work, I accidentally uninstalled the USB 3.0 Root device in the Device Manager.

Now the touch component of the touch screen doesnèt work. The USB ports still do. Please help - I want to restore the touch functionality but not reformat my whole computer.

When I click Update Driver on the device in device manager, it says the most up to date ones are installed.

In Device Manager, it says it's an "Unkown USB Device (Invalid device descriptor)"

Windows 8.1

  1. Remove the banged unknown usb device entry, shut down the yoga and turn back on. See if it is auto-detected.
  2. Try a Windows system restore to the day prior to you tampering with the device manager.

To restore your PC to an earlier point in time

  • Press the windows key + c to pull up the charms
  • Enter Control Panel in the search box, and tap or click Control Panel.
  • Enter Recovery in the Control Panel search box, and then tap or click Recovery.
  • Tap or click Open System Restore, and then follow the instructions.
