Re: Yoga with Backlit keyboard..........in future?

Yeah, I would have purchased Lenovo but NO backlit keyboard is a deal breaker for me.  I work even when I go to bed.  There is NO way I am going to leave the lights on while my husband is sleeping. Also when you are in the dark in airplane or wherever.   I ended up buying Sony Ultrabook $1600.  I am not happy with their touchpad but I would compromise just because it does have the backlift keyboard.

You are correct it is definitely INCOMPLETE without that feature.  That is like going backwards without that feature

"""Sigh"""

I wish if Lenovo really cares! It's been more than six months that Yoga is out, but no news/response with the updated features of backlit keyboard in Ideapad Yoga 13.3 in future. It's frustrating really.

Maybe they were hoping that in six months people could learn to touch-type. :)

There's no way I am going to touch type if I need to come up with a 15 page report for work. That is why backlit is a must!

It's too much late, and finally I have got my solution in Acer Aspire R7. Bye Lenovo.

Yes, indeed...  The R7 sure is pretty.  And it's got a nice, big 15.6" full HD screen, and the backlit keyboard.  For my .02, I wouldn't touch anything from Acer (remember eMachines?  That's who Acer is...)  I also noticed it weighs 2 pounds more than the Yoga.  While I'd love to see a backlit keyboard on the Yoga, I can't see the increase in size and weight being worth the trade-off, but that's just me.

Really, Acer R7 is too much heavy, it could have came with 14'' inch to reduce the weight.

I am really liking the competeation between Yoga and acer R7

As a convertable Yoga is more leaing to the Tablet, where the R7 leans more to the Leptop. So may be a 14'' could be a good balance.

Even a 13.3" - especially if they can keep the 1600x900 that the Yoga has.  I don't see the R7 as being competition - YET.  If they can get it smaller and lighter, then it will be a serious competitor.  I definitely agree with your observation that the R7 is more laptop than tablet, and vice-versa for the Yoga.
