Hi yogi10,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

You can try to check if your machine has an international warranty from here (if the host country is listed as per machine model type). If the model is marketed in the region, then they would also have availability of parts usual for repair cases.

There are certain countries that may require a proof of purchase or proof of proper importation before you can receive an IWS service and there may be fees or restrictions that apply when and if you need IWS. This includes Vietnam.

You can review this article on International warranty FAQ here.

Hope this helps answer your query.

Regards

Re: american in ho chi mihn vietnam is my warranty good here.? my start up button broken

its almost impossible to get ahold of lenovo. alot of blocks on thier site.  anyway. i took my unit to saigon (hcmc) to the auth. service. first they said my unit not covered in vietnam. then after some calls they said it was covered. but not the power up button?  is that lame?  anyway , they repaired the button and charged me 700000 dong. the button is still acting up. i want a replacement. they have a replacement and they quoted me 1 million 300000 dong for that. how can i contact lenovo to see if they will cover the costs?  this is lame. i paid for a warranty and im not being covered.

Hi yogi10,

Greetings.

I would suggest that you review the IWS agreement here.

You can call in Lenovo tech support here.

I am not so optimistic that Lenovo would cover the cost for repair other than you have the repair done on the originating country of purchase.

Each machine type may have models with unique features and components for a particular country. That machine type may be sold and serviced in the new country, however, if a particular model of that machine type is not sold and serviced in that country, service and parts may not be readily available in that country......... Customers are responsible for obtaining all necessary clearances required for export/import and shall bear any associated costs, tariffs and duties."

Regards

i took to saigon official repair center. first they said not covered. then they said itwas........they repaired the button for 35 dollars. i could get a new button circuit from them installed for 75 dollars. i dont know which way to go is smarter. they said the repair would work. it seems like a rock or something got in thier. i still think i paid for international warranty and i should get one. lenovo answered me via facebook as they wont answer their phone

Re: american in ho chi mihn vietnam is my warranty good here.? my start up button broken

Hi yogi10,

Greetings.

Usually if the host country do not have the parts specific to the machine model, service centers have certain limitations of the covered support. If the options presented to you are not ok on your end then best way to receive the warranty service is to have it repaired in the country of purchase.
