The part is recommended for a field technician so tools and skills are expected but with review and guide from the hardware manual, this is possible with review and patience.
It would be a challenge since this would include removing other parts first so having a recording of what goes out so that getting parts back will not be an issue.
If you do not have the tools and in doubt, then having a service tech work on the machine should be the option.
I hope this helps answer your query.

I've read the manual but I haven't seen how to remove that plastic cover,
On what page of the manual is it?
I ask just out of curiousity because I'm not planing to do it by myself.

If you start removing most of the parts as shown in the manual, it would just leave you with one main structure which is the upper case cover.
Here the upper case cover serve as a foundation of the structure instead of the bottom cover and the more reason OEM prescribes that a field certified tech for the model perform the disassembly. They as trained to replace parts for such designs.
