left trackpad button on Yoga 710-14IKB has become finnicky

Recently the left trackpad button on my Yoga 710-14IKB has become finnicky. I now have to push the button in exactly the right spot to make it work. If I press on any other part of the button it doesn't work, which means that most of the time when I try to use the button to select text it doesn't work. What can I do about this?

Re: left trackpad button on Yoga 710-14IKB has become finnicky

Hi halfbeing,

It would seem that it is more of a mechanical failure of the button so calling in technical support for in-warranty service would resolve this.

Usual to this case that they would replace the entire upper case cover. There is a challenge to removing the touchpad as most parts would also be needing disassembly as detailed here in the manual and video guide.

External mouse may be an alternative for now but best to have it checked in a service center specially if the mouse button works ok.

I hope this helps answer your query.
