lenovo yago 720 ssd drive specs - can i get something faster?

HI all,

does anyone know what the specs are on the 500gb ssd drive that comes with the yoga 720? I'd like to upgrade to something a little faster and bigger, and i was wondering if something like the samsung 960 1tb would give me any noticable increase in performance?

Hi merkk ,

Greetings.

You can research more on the SSD that comes with your machine using the part number , manufacturer number and description as noted in the parts look up (entering your serial number).

Increase in capacity size would likewise increase potential speed due to increase chips to accomodate the size as they are placed in parallel. Part number 5SD0L07883 Samsung PM981 1T M.2 2280 PCIe MZVLB1T0HALR-000L2 SSD is  OEM certified to models 81C3.

Hope this helps answer your query.

Regards

Re: lenovo yago 720 ssd drive specs - can i get something faster?

Hi merkk,

Greetings.

There would be several factors to consider on each model even with the same brand (different variants).

Larger SSD capacity is expected to have faster access with more NAND chips base on the technlogy it is developed.

OEM certified parts listed in the hardware manual are pre tested on the machine but do not limit users in their choice as well as cannot guarantee functionality. In choosing 3rd party parts for upgrade, best to check return options just in case.

Regards
