2019-10-10, 15:34 PM

Hi, I have a yoga 520 14IKB and have bought a kingston a400 NVME (both linked below). It is not getting detected, is it compatible with my system? what do I need to do to make it work?

The SSD you linked is SATA, not PCIe/NVMe.

[edit to add] The base spec indicates that the m.2 slot is PCIe, not SATA.

I thought they were the same? sorry I'm not really knowledgeable in m.2 drives yet.

So, would this SATA drive work with my model or do I need the PCIe one?

Hi hollowmancr,

Greetings.

You may need to replace it with a m.2 PCIe NVMe SSD instead as supported specification for your model.

OEM example of SSD offered can be checked in the parts lookup page (Click Compatible> choose Solid State drives under Commodity list).

I hope this helps answer your query.

Regards
