pieces falling of yoga 2 pro

2021-01-17, 15:22 PM

Hello.

As you can see my not so much used yoga wore off and these rubber pieces started to fell off the laptop.

And this so frustrates me and my OCD I want to make it like it was before this,I can't use it like this.

Can I somehow remake the rubber, maybe use liquid sillicone?

Here in Bosnia I can't find anything other.

I have spare chasis from same model but I suppose it's very difficult to transfer all hardware from my yoga to that casing,so I've been told by technician.

I really don't know what you have been doing with that laptop.

I have a Yoga 2 Pro sitting here and there's no damage like that to it, the rubber/plastic surround is still perfect.

I've purchased it like that. But once one piece fell off, others continued too. This rubber is of bad quality.

I had heard of others with that problem too. Maybe relates to the temperature or humidity the laptop had been stored in.

That is not a fair statement, in my opinion.

I have had the following Yoga 2-in-1 laptops: Yoga13 (the original), Yoga 2 Pro, Yoga 3 Pro, Yoga 900, Yoga 900S, and Yoga 910. All of them have gone on to new homes, except the 900S, and none of them have anything like the physical (damage?) condition shown in your pictures. In fact, they're pristine.

You implied up-thread that you got the machine in not the best condition. It looks more like it has been used very roughly, maybe not by you, but certainly before.

Regards.

Yes it is....the laptop is in the bag,not been used for months, and still pieces of some rubber are starting to fall off. Maybe I'm to blame because few months ago I used liquid soap to clean screen cover. Anyway can I use Bison liquid rubber to cover these missing pieces? I dunno know what material this is,I suppose rubber.

So like 6 months the laptop was kept in a bag, earlier this morning when I took it out,I noticed that more pieces were falling off, like warms are eating this laptop,it's tearing aparrt by itself.

I never used to clean any of this pieces except the display with special liquid.

One piece fell aparat immedieatly and I had to glue it up (marked in picture).

I really love the convertible and screen on this laptop but this makes me so frustrated and don't know what to do to save this form tearing apart like crazy in future.

I have spare used bottom chasis, but I'd need to bring laptop to It center to check if all the hardware can be transfered to separate bottom case.

So can that be done?

Can PC Technician transfer all the Hardware inside the chasis to the new bottom chasis, where this edge "rubber" is in better conidition?

I'd keep this screen but I have spare other screen too.

Hello @ frozensun!

Thanks for posting here at the Community Forums!

It would be advisable to bring the device to any local service providers near your area for them to inspect the machine furthermore and see what can be done about it as well.
