screen blinks and system goes off on battery power supply

i have a lenovo yoga 500 14ibd, model:80N4, not older than 4months that suddenly develop serious problem while switching from ac supply to battery power.

first, it does not charge d battery to 100% anymore, stops about 65%.

second, on switching from ac supply to battery power, the screen blinks  (as if it's about to off) for few seconds returns to normal for about 3 to 4mins and goes off suddenly. it does not power on' on battery nor stay on battery. wat is the problem pls, is it battery for a   new system?

Re: screen blinks and system goes off on battery power supply

Hi there, Ikeossai                    -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

In Conservation Mode, the battery charge level is limited to 55%-70% of its full capacity. This can reduce the battery degradation and extend the battery lifespan.

You can also start by flushing out all static, remove battery and AC adaptor and hold down power button for about 15 seconds.

Update the BIOS.

Update us how it goes.

Re: screen blinks and system goes off on battery power supply

thanks for your reply.

First, the system is not in conservation mode. i did as u instructed and the challenge still persist;

The battery never charges to 100% stops about 65%. Also when there is  ac mains powercut, the screen blinks for few seconds returns to normal for about 2mins and goes off. System serial no: R90HBX7T is still under warranty but lenovo nigeria says they cannot help out because the system was bought from another region precisely Norway. I was thinking maybe some of the cells of the battery, responsible for 65%  upward charging, is bad. someone suggested that the ic responsible for switching between mains and battery power supply is bad which i doubt. But why is d 65% battery charged indicated by the system not being able to keep the system on? What is funny is that the system didnt indicate any battery problem/error. i am sick of the situation.

Re: screen blinks and system goes off on battery power supply

Neither lenovo Energy management nor Onekey Optimizer is not installed in the system. Only onekey Recovery" is available. I ve been leaving with the problem and everyone mocking the system and the product. is not funny for a pad without battery.

And we're back...

Move delayed but still coming
