touchpad does not exist? yoga 2 pro

2018-02-12, 18:58 PM

yoga 2 pro touchpad does not exist in the device manager list?? it did exist, not it has gine? I was trying to upgrade the device driver - same problem as a lot of others with intermittent toichpad operation.

So now, I look at the device driver list ans there is no touchpad device. I tried to search for hardware changes, but still no touchpad.

I plugged in a usb mouse and that gets recognised. but still touchpad.

any suggestions?

Hi MarcCowes,

Did you tried to press "F6 Key" that Enable/Disable Y2P's TouchPad?

Hi,

Thank you for the email.

Tried that. no change.

The issue seems to be that the hardware does not exist so I cant attach a driver to it.

When I try to "find" the hardware, using the device manager, it does not find it?

I would value your further suggestions.

Thank you.

Marc

In this case it seems to me an internal problem of TouchPad's connection cable.

Looks like the cable and so on are in correctly.

I noticed this AM, by chance, that the touchpad responds to 2 finger gesture action of scrolling the screen up and down, but still does not show up in the device driver or react to single finger gestures (the pointer does not respond) or mouse button taps, left or right.

so, it seems that the PC "sees" the hardware ?

Any more ideas please?

thank you for your help.

You could try to UNINSTALL your current TouchPad driver, reboot your Y2P and then REINSTALL it again.

If it doesn't work, go back to message #4 above and Double Check your TouchPad cable connetions.
