widi on the yoga

Does anybody know if widi is possible on the Yoga 13?  I know you need an Intel wireless chip and the yoga comes with a realtek wireless chip but I know there are Intel half PCIe adapters that you can buy for laptops.  I just don't know if the yoga has a half PCIe slot available or if there is any other way to get Widi on the yoga. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

So what is the status of widi on yoga? I found here that yoga does support widi?

Re: widi on the yoga

That was from the CES show in January and they were probably speculating based on the CPU specs.

Re: widi on the yoga

This is so disappointing.

The Yoga has not been shipped here in the Uk yet and I was looking forward to getting one as it seemed to tick all the boxes - provided it did offer a 256 GB SSD option.

Through this forum I have realised it does not support WiDi which I assumed it would. Why on earth does Lenovo not offer this ? They probably have not understood how people now use laptops or PCs these days to stream video off the net and project on a large screen.

Such a basic marketing mistake. Such a shame, I thought this was really the right convetible for me !

Re: widi on the yoga

One point is that Intel Core i7-3517U processor doesn't support WiDi. Core i5-3317U does support, but as I think it would be more confusing to sell cheap marginal model with specs that lack from best and most wanted models - this is just my opinion.

Re: widi on the yoga

How come The Core i7-3517U doesn't support WiDi ?? And why is implemented on Dell XPS 12 ?? with the same procesor. Why Lenovo can't make that ? We are in 21 century ...
