wifi connection problem

Have taken my new yoga tablet abroad.

It's finding the hotel WiFi but then not giving me the option to put in a password so not connecting. How do I input the wifi password when it doesn't give me the option automatically?

Re: wifi connection problem

Some things to try,

  • Left-Click on Start, type Control Panel, and select it to open from the list of search results.
  • Select the Network and Sharing Center  (Depending on the view settings for the Control Panel, you may have to first select the Network and Internet group, and then select Network and Sharing Center)
  • Locate the hotel's WiFi, and left-click on the blue link for the name of the WiFi (to the right of Connection) to open its WiFi Status window
  • Left-click on Wireless Properties to open, and then select the Security Tab at the top
  • Enter the proper Network Security Key and press OK to save etc.

You can also try just left-clicking on the WiFi icon in the lower right of the desktop, right-click on the hotel's WiFi connection, select "Forget", and then try connecting again and see if it prompts you for the security key.
