Re: yoga 13 freezes 1-2 times a day

Hi,

this is an old thread, but it is worth replying to it.

I have tried all of the solutions stated in this blog, but no luck.

I tried the solution in this video, and I have not had any freezes for three weeks! This is even without restarting the laptop.

If it works for you, please spread the word.

Erick.

Re: yoga 13 freezes 1-2 times a day

Hello

I have a Yoga 2, and the display locked up 3 times this year.

Picture remains but no mouse or track pad.

Cannot manually turn off.

Had to pull the battery plug off twice to clear the system.

  This sucks.

Re: yoga 13 freezes 1-2 times a day

Hi Everyone, I have good news, although very late in the game:

I was able to solve the freezing problem permanently!

Please see below, dust off those old yoga ideapad 13's and do this:

1. Go to settings > Power options.

2. Go to the left-side menu: Advanced.

3. Set the system cooling policy to "passive" for when the laptop is plugged in (same as when on battery).

Hopefully this helps some people out there, so far my laptop has been freeze-free for a month now (with "normal" intermitent use).
