yoga 13 overheating/ uncomfortably warm?

Hello, I bought a yoga 13 last week.  One issue I've encountered is that the bottom of the unit becomes uncomfortably warm, particularly when being used as a laptop while plugged in.  The fan is making noise but I feel very little air movement coming from it; I've used Core Temp to determine that it is hitting up to 68 degrees Celsius (over 150 Fahrenheit).

For a brand new unit that is being used for much other than office work (not running any demanding software or games) I feel like this is hotter than it should be.. it also makes it uncomfortably warm after sitting in my lap for a bit.

Is this a known issue with the model?  or might I have a fan or other problem with my unit?

Thanks for your help!

Re: yoga 13 overheating/ uncomfortably warm?

Hi

Welcome to the community.

As you are experiencing noise from the CPU Fan and overheating. To diagnose, I would suggest you to please update the Bios of your system from the below mentioned web link.

http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/66cn52ww.exe

Afterwards, please restart and check, if the issue persists then it needs personal assistance of the service technician.

Regards,

Sameer
