Driver Updated - but stlll Status show 135mbs connection speed. Desctop PC in same time show 300mbs. Why Yoga dosn;t support 300mbs connection? (Yoga near dir5655 at 10sm)

It is f... equal, wether you have a 300 or 150 MBit/s connection. Put your 2 laptops at the same place and copy a big file from the internal network. Than have a look at the real data rates. You will be surprised!

It can happen, that the 150MBit/s are faster because of less failure correction!

And to answer the question, why it is 300 MBit/s with one device and 150 MBit/S with the Yoga:

Re: yoga 13 wifi issues

2013-04-30, 15:42 PM

Up until recently, I was one of the lucky few that was not experiencing the most extreme wifi issues, although my connection speed was barely acceptable unless directly next to the router.  Some of the suggested adjustments to the Driver's Advance Settings seemed to be benefitial.

However, over time the connection speed of my Yoga 13 (with the 09/04/2012) driver started to degrade even further to the point of uselessness (download speeds <1Mbps).

Out of necessity and optimism, I received and installed DieCast's 01/18/2013 drive.  I did not see any performance improvements associated with this driver and am now experiencing recurring issues with this hardware.

First of all, any modifications of the driver Advanced settings (such as modifying the Selective Suspend to Disabled) causes a device error (see screenshot #1).  Worse, even if I leave the settings alone, a reboot causes the Local Area Connection adapter to be disabled (see screenshot #2).

In order to recover from either hardware disabling, I am forced to Uninstall the Network Adapter through the Device Manager and reinstall the Driver softare.  If I try to "Update" the driver software instead of reinstalling it, I receive an error message that "Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device" (see screenshot #3 - note, similar message as screenshot #1 which occurs after modifying the Advanced Setting).

Inorder to get a connection of any sort now I have to uninstall the hardware and reinstall the Driver software.

I even tried reverting to the 09/04/2012 driver with the same hardware disabling occurring.

So, to summarize, my Yoga initially avoided most of the serious connection issues until recently when connection performance became unacceptable.  After attempting to update the driver software my hardware/driver have issues at each reboot regardless of driver version.

Does anyone have any suggestions to at least address this hardware/driver disabling?  Evidently, meddling with the drivers has caused even further issues for myself.

Thank you.

P.S.  I have PMed Nine to receive the Beta driver, hoping that might help.

I would run a command prompt and run sfc /scannow to see if the OS files are ok.

Ok so I know this is in the wrong area, but I was hoping you guys could help me out.

As you know this is my second Yoga, and on this Yoga the fan makes a noise whenever I move the laptop a little bit. I don't remember my other Yoga doing that at all.

It sounds like a bad bearing or something.

Does anyone else get a noise like this when the move their Yoga?
