Lenovo's image won't be harmed if they show up with a solution. I was also thinking about using the social media but I have to admit that this option isn't the most respectful one.

What kind of respectful behavior is Lenovo offering to us? Is it respectful, to ignore someone? So, why should we be respectful?

@ Nine: Do you have an idea when Lenovo is going to release the new driver?

We have already a beta version, thanks for that, so I suppose there will come a final version too.

Ok just got my 3rd Yoga and I noticed right out of the box the factory image they use has corrupt system files if you run a SFC scan. After running the recovery and running SFC again the system shows that the system is fine. This has been the same on all 3 Yogas.

I would run an sfc /scannow from the command prompt to check yourself.

I also hope NINE can pass this on to the right people!

My router is the Motorola SBG900. I haven't tried modifying any settings. Which settings do you suggest I play with (other than the channels, which I haven't modified either, but I will give it a try and report).

I suggest you look for a setting that disables channel bonding (also sometimes called 40 Mhz or 20/40 Mhz).  This is used to bond two 2.4Ghz channels together for greater speeds but is not quite part of the official wireless spec and therefore can cause compatilibity issues.  On my Netgear router this appears as a Mode setting of "up to 300 Mbps" vs. "up to 130 Mbps".  I had wireless problems with my Yoga if I tried the first/faster speed setting and now just run it at the latter setting.

But I didn't see anything like this in an SBG900 manual I downloaded -- The above only applies to wireless-N and your router only seems wireless-G.  But you may try changing the Wireless/Network setting for Operating Mode to "11b/11g standard" vs. "11g enhanced" just to see if that makes any difference.  And it might be worth investing in a new wireless-N router to enjoy much better wireless performance and possibly better Yoga wireless behavior (though there are still people here having issues with N).

I didn't find any setting related to channel bonding indeed.

"11b/11g standard" vs. "11g enhanced" doesn't make any difference.

Changing channels doesn't make any difference either.

By the way, ping time isn't affected much and upload time isn't affected as much as download time.

Sorry, I don't have any other suggestions.  If you're really just using wireless-G then it's worth upgrading to wireless-N for at least the higher possible speeds.  (And maybe improved compatibility with the Yoga)

Hi,

i just called Lenovo and they have agreed to pickup my Yoga13 and take it in for a review, and if they find a problem hopefully a fix, should be picked up in 2 days and returned 10 working days after that.

has anyone else done a return to Lenovo and had the problem fixed?

thanks

Wolfy

That would be a repair at their repair center. All they will do is replace the wireless card.

So what would you suggest is the fix for the wifi issue?
I have tried the beta wifi driver and the suggested setting changes.

I like my yoga and it works great. . But the wifi sucks
