I just posted about my WIFI issues too, then saw this thread had been brought back to the top.

Either way, I guess I'm not the only one.

Re: yoga 13 wifi issues
Update WIFI driver to the latest one from www.lenovo.com, you could have a return if still have problem.

*****  This does not solve the problem so I do not know why it says "SOLVED" .... it has not been solved!

I have been relegated to use an external USB wifi adapter and it works fine with either of my Cisco AE1000 or AE 2500.....  if I remove the USB WIfi adapter and go back to the Yoga wifi I start experienceing the same routine problems of my internet cutting off or disconnecting anytime I move away from my router..........

Hey Nine,

I know you posted to this thread as a Lenovo staff member. Can you tell us if Lenovo is working on a solution, or should I just return it?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

That's great news. I hope they could post on here that they are still working on it.

Interesting update on my issue. My work provides Aerohive BR100's for some folks to use instead of VPN. These re-broadcast our corporate network out of the unit and securely connect back to the office.

This unit uses an Atheros chip, which is the same brand in my Netgear WNDR3700. I'm experiencing drops in it as well.
Again, the Linksys did better and the Asus did great, these two are not good though however my wife's laptop still connects fine to both.

So if it is just one chip it is having problems with then Lenovo should be able to fix it with a software/firmware update.

Re: yoga 13 wifi issues

I solved my problem. Since my wifi connection never showed more than 3 bars, even when sitting next to the modem/router,  dropped the connection every time the Yoga went to sleep and would not re-connect thereafter (always "attempting to authenticate") I replaced my 3 year old Netgear DG834G modem/router with a Netgear N600 (DGND3700). It has solved all of my issues: Full bars all the time (even on the other side of the house!), never drops the connection, connects instantly when I wake from sleep and is screaming fast to boot!

In my case it was the router, not the Yoga, so it seems the Yoga13 wifi card is incompatible with older routers. Hope this helps others to resolve their issues.

Re: yoga 13 wifi issues

My Yoga was good out of the box, then I started having no WiFi after every suspend. The Oct 23rd drivers did nothing. I wound up clearing the connect automatically flag and then it would stay connected after suspend most of the time but needed to manually connect after boot. Better but not right yet. Suspend problems with N600 router and two different 2Wire routers so not the router. Range seems OK..

Next I reloaded the Yoga, put in the C: D: drive merge hotfix, re-installed apps and everything was great. Good range and no disconnects, resume after suspend every time.... For a few days. Then I rebooted and the Microsoft windows updated me and I am back to no connection after suspend. Also it seems that the issue started the first time after an MS update.

Leveno / MS please figure this out, this could be a great machine but is getting a bad name

kbwalsh - I did something similar and upgraded my router and it resolved the issue.

Are you sure you have the Netgear DG834G and not the Netgear DG834GT? The only reason I ask is that the DG834GT uses an Atheros processor, but the former uses a Broadcom (and your new router too). I've been seeing issues with the card specific to Atheros based routers so far.

Just curious - thanks!
