i'm using yoga 500 14ibd with win 7 installed on it,
i noticed that every time i close the lid (even if i set the power managmet to do nothing when closing the lid) the touch screen stop working.
reseting the machine solves this.
i tried disabling and reenabling the touch device from the device manager but it does nothing.
i really not sure what i can do.
if you guys have any ideas i will love to try.
i should note that it doesn't happen on win 8.1.

Same here with Yoga 700 and win10. Although highly unlikely but did you find a solution maybe? At this point, I am off the opinion that you finding a solution is better chance than Lenovo doing it.

I have the same issue with my yoga 3 1470 80JH. Tried many things, nothing worked. It has Windows 8.1
Tried the lid close settings as you mentioned, unplugging USB mouse, disabling and re-enablaing touch screen driver.

I just noticed that there is an area of the screen that still responds to touch after closing and opening the lid.
The area that still works is the tool bar at the very bottom of the screen. Tool bar may not be the proper name but I think it is descriptive.
