yoga 500 power button broken

2018-07-03, 10:14 AM

Hi, I have a lenovo yoga 500 (machine number 80N4002BUK). The power button has got very soft (no more clicks) and it does not work anymore. I managed to to turn the machine on using the NOVO button, still I would like to use the proper power button.

Can you help me find witch part I should buy? Also a little guideline would be great.

Thank you.

Re: yoga 500 power button broken

Hi psylockeer,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

CHecking with the hardware manual shows the power button is attached on the systemboard (PN 5B20H91226 MB W Flex3-1470W8SI5-5200 UMA B) rather than the I/O board for your Yoga 500-14IBD.

Best to have it checked if it was still well in position or need to be resoldered back in place as it most often gets pushed in other than the physical button missing its position. Here is the hardware manual and parts video for reference.

Once you have it checked, then you can decide if repair is possible for the button on the board as depot service usually replaces the entire board for in-warranty repair.

I hope this helps answer your query.
