I have a new Yoga 710 151KB - 15" screen. The Elan touchpad driver is year 2016. There is unpredictable phantom-clicking and I lost a few key files. I move the pointer to select files and it clicks before I press and often it is a different file than intended.
Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.
Try to download the newest Touchpad and Chipset drivers for the unit from the support page.
Make sure to reboot after an update on the unit.
Also, try a static discharge for this, it may help to resolve the issue or at least get rid of any built up static on the motherboard.
(If the battery is internal, please just skip the remove/replace battery steps.)
1. Turn the unit off
2. Remove the battery and the Mains adapter
3. Press and hold the front power button for 30 seconds
4. Replace the battery and the Mains adapter
5. Turn the unit on as normal
Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

Thanks for your help. I downloaded the touchpad driver for my laptop. I don't really know details of that driver. But when I updated the driver it had both an Elan and a MS driver, and I chose Elan (as that is the brand pointing device I have). The date is still 2016 and I got messages that this driver is the best for me. (The Lenovo download page says the newest driver is 2017, maybe that is the MS driver, but I chose to stay with Elan).
Note I am using, as I have for years, an external wireless mouse and set the touchpad to not work if I have another mouse.
I also did the static "on button" action you mentioned.
Note that yesterday Lenovo had updates for 6 drivers on my laptop which I did install. It does not say which drivers.
