yoga 700 14 inch/ WiFi card

Hey guys, was wondering if anyone had any experience with replacing the WiFi card in the yoga 700 or just replacing WiFi cards in general. I am thinking about upgrading the intel Wi Fi card on my 700 model (Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165, 802.11ac, 1x1 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0) .. :Looking for faster streaming speeds as well as signal strength

The question is I was looking at the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 card (it's the same card in the yoga 900 model) is it that much better and is it worth upgrading?

thank you

Re: yoga 700 14 inch/ WiFi card

Hi GMS,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

As per the datasheet, yes. Your laptop is very much compatible with AC 8260 card.

Let us know if it helps.

Regards,

Shashi

Re: yoga 700 14 inch/ WiFi card

I dont have experience replacing it, but i do have a Yoga  700 and the wifi speeds are awful.  Sometimes it crawled and other times was okay and sometimes no internet.  I was usually right next to the router so something wrong with the machine.  Other devices were fine with the router.  I had to connect directly to the router to get the Verizon 50/50 speeds they provide.  Right now I am on a work issued Dell Latitude and on wifi (same router) and it gets over 50Mbps download and the Lenovo never got more than 5Mbps. Something is wrong with the wireless card.  A Lenovo HW tech came out and replaced the wifi card , but it didnt help. Wonder why he didnt upgrade it?  It is no good. i shouldve gotten an ethernet cable a long time ago.  the usb 3.0 adapter was expensive though.  i shouldnt have to pay for this stuff because it should work with the router.
