Re: yoga 700 failed test in solution centre

2015-12-27, 6:12 AM

im having the same issue here ... failling to pass Motherboard PCI / PCI - e test  and mathematical operation test.

(lenovo solution center) in fact can only find issues but no solutions.

computers are supposed to be user friendly but in fact they are scarier to use

buying a lenovo its like buying a brand new car with all the warning lights coming up on the dashboard and no technicians able to fix it ...

sorry to come here with such negative attidude but i bought this pc 2 months ago, and only have problems after problems .. remote access with technicians makes it even worse. i already had to reset twice to factory setting.

overall it works but warning lights that we are told to ignore are annoying .

hope it can be fixed asap, so we can all enjoy using our yoga 700 as i said overall a good laptop

PCI-e test only fails on recent solution center. Use old version 3.0.003 and be happy.

Use graphics driver version 20.19.15.4352 from Intel website to pass maths test and stop it from "not responding".

Switch to "Microsoft basic display adapter" before installing Intel graphics driver. This bypasses the validation problem.

It took me several days to find this out. Lenovo hotline was no help at all.

thanks for your help.

that's exactly what i was saying.... we users, have to come here to find solutions to are problems, solutions given by users that we are forced to trust, no expert support from lenovo to back up the solutions given,  we also need to be able to understand what's all that means , im not a computer genius and lot of users are like my self...

lenovo supports are useless they are not able to remote access and not even able to guide you as they dont have solutions to their problems that is now ours..

buy lenovo its like buying a car with all warning light coming up on the dash board and no support ..

im obviously dealing with the issues, dont have the choice, I bought this thing now....

but i wont recommend lenovo

not because of the computer but the lack of support .

but thats me .

merry chrismast and happy new year to everyone even lenovo support hahaha.

Hi Amy,

Can you give any update on this please?

I had the same problem out of the box, and Lenovo support have asked me to do a factory reset to determine if it is a hardware issue.  That seems to conflict with this thread which indicates a driver issue.  I followed the instructions in the "solution" to this post and rolled back to an older driver.  This results in passing the mathematical operations test, but the display driver is just as unreliable and regularly crashes.

thanks,

Michael

If you are having display driver issues, such as display driver has stopped responding, This is an intel generation 6 driver issues,

Intel has released some beta drivers you can test out, that may correct some of these issues you are having.

Step 1

Go here and download the .zip version of your driver, mostly likley the bottom left side. the 64 bit version zip file,

type https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25620/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-1-10-15-40-6th-Gen

Step 2

extract this file and remember the location of your extracted file. and manually update it

Instructions are found here how to do it. http://plugable.com/2014/12/03/how-to-manually-update-windows-intel-hd-graphics-drivers

even if you have a GForce card in your computer still upgrade your driver.

This is the beta driver, you can hold out until lenovo eventually updates theirs.

I would like to provide an update on this issue.

Lenovo will release an updated version of Lenovo Solution Center by next week to resolve customer reports of errors against the 520 graphics card. The diagnostics test that fails is the Mathmatical Operations Test.

The Service TIP can be found here: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/SF15-T0099.

Please note that while the tip only references two models, it is known to impact many different models.

Thank you,

Thanks snoop_rogg - version 4352 seems a lot more stable (and allows me to use Amazon Instant video).  It also passes the mysterious "mathematical" test!

This seems the simplest and quickest way to resolve - I hope this message gets through to Lenovo support.

Solution Center crashes my Yoga 700 every time I run a scan, that can't be a good sign.

edit: Seems that it's a bug in the latest nVIDIA driver. So I've downgraded the nVIDIA driver, upgraded the Intel driver, and now I pass the math ops test. Still fail the PCI/PCI-e test though.

attempted to update driver as shown but error message "The computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software" popps up on Yoga 700  Model 80QD. I am  trying to cure the "Display Driver has stopped responding and has recovered" message  as well as Mathematical Operations Test Failed problem. I'm not particularly computer savvi.
