yoga 710-14ikb - How to replace SSD and keep OKR button function

2017-03-05, 22:42 PM

I bought a Yoga 710-14ikb and would like to replace the original SSD 256GB by a larger 500GB one.

My notebook is quite new (few weeks) and has several original partitions:
1. 260 MB

2. 197 GB - Windows 10 C: (NTFS)

3. 25 GB - Data D: (NTFS)

4. 1 GB - Recovery

5. 14.15 GB -Windows Recovery

6. 1 GB - OEM Recovery

I bought a 500GB SSD to replace the original one.

As I like the OKR button feature, I would like to keep this functionality. If needed I can buy a "m.2 to usb" case to clone my old SSD first.

Questions are:

How is it possible to keep this Novo button function with my new SSD? Can this tool be downloaded from Lenovo site?

If not how to partitioning the new SSD in a most senseful way?

At this notebook Windows 10 Home is installed. But I am quite skilled with old windows versions (vista and before) and old BIOS functions but have no experience with UEFI and windows 10. Hence, I'm surpriced about all this 3 recovery partitions and how to make paritions with UEFI and keep the OKR function

Looking foward to read your answers!

I think you need to duplicate the recovery and oem partition. Use linux to copy them
