yoga 710 power on issue

Hey! A weird bug appear on my device few days ago maybe after a software update.

If i shut down my laptop or if it hibernate, power and novo buttons are useless, i have to plug in the AC cord in order to power on the laptop.

The ultrabook need to be on for charging the battery.

Battery health is good and last as usual.

I try to test few things:

uninstall battery in device manager.

reinstall energy management driver and Intel management engine interface driver.

Bios updated to 1.05 and reset to default.

Unplug the battery and hold the power on button ( i found this tips on the net)

drain all power and make a full charge.

reset Windows power management to default.

No effect, i still need AC cord for power on/ wake up.

I didn't try yet to reset all the ultrabook with lenovo recovery. For the moment i disable hybernate in Windows 10, Sleep is enable and works great but drain more power.

I'am still looking for another solution, the ultra book is still under warranty but maybe this is a software issue

Thanks a lot and merry christmas

Re: yoga 710 power on issue

Hi Terratexel  ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Those steps that you have tried should be able to resolve a software or configuration issue aside from system restore back to previous working date , uninstalling lenovo setting and companion to check the difference  and lastly factory restore via One Key Recovery (page24).

Try to notice if the battery indicator (page28) would turn on from amber (low charge) to white without turning on the power to check continuos battery charging connection. This is to isolate systemboard failure and /or other daughter boards.

Best to have technical support informed of this scenario while the warranty is up.

Hope this helps answer your query.

Update us how things go.

Regards
