i received a yoga 720-151kb december 2017 (~ 12/5/17).
approximately 4 - 5 weeks ago, the yoga's screen/display began dimming unexpectedly. the errant dimming occurs when the flipbook is operating on battery and plugged in...there is no telling when the errant dimming will occur. [i am experiencing random 'blue screen microsoft os' issues as well but that's a different post...]
attached are two (2) photos of the screen/display this morning after it dimmed unexpectedly.
a temporary 'fix' is to make the screen 'go black' (by pressing the f11 key). again, it is a temporary fix because it is unknown as to when (!) the errant dimming will occur.
fwiw: i have installed the recommended updates (from lenovo, microsoft) as they come through and continue to do so. i have modified power options, disabled 'auto' options, etc., to no avail because the errant dimming continues.
a lengthy chat with anupriya of live assistance (UGH!), yielded more questions than answers on my behalf. anupriya directed me to "...download and install the driver to see if this fixes the issue" and "...recommend making sure that Windows is updated to the latest version as this can fix many issue" [those are direct quotes from the chat window]
if any other yoga 720-151kb owner is experiencing this exact issue and resolved it successfully, will you please share here the exact steps you took so that i may do so as well? advance thanks!

I would suggest to contact technical support while your warranty is active.
You may also chat with them here.
You can show them the image and even link them to our post here in the community. This would explain much specially if the same bleeding and dimming shows in the BIOS. I assume this won't show in a connected external monitor.
I hope this helps answer your query.

I am using a secured IT management server and links are fine as I rechecked them (maybe a lag on the server). The same links are the ones technical support guys gave me as they are seated next to me right now and are waiting for your call/chat.
