Ubuntu 18.10 on X1 Extreme 4K

Hi, I got the basic system working but there are still some issues. Anybody knows how to make the following work?

1. Wake from suspend.

2. Control of screen brightness using F5 and F6. Currently volume control works out of the box but not brightness control.

3. Hybrid GPU switching

4. Sometimes no sound from the speaker of a 4K TV connecting to the X1E via HDMI 2.0 port. Even I made the switch manually in the sound control system. It worked yesterday but never works today.

please how did you do it? I've been triying and trying, it gets stuck and won't even enter the installer ? Could it be because my USB key is 32GB? I'm lost...

Switching to discrete graphic card in BIOS helped me.

Afterwards booting Linux from USB stick was no problem anymore.

Re: Ubuntu 18.10 on X1 Extreme 4K

Hi, any success on getting 18.10 to wake up from suspend on the X1E?

That's the biggest hassle I'm facing now. It took several long tedious days of trial and error to get 18.10 into a usable state, but now the lack of suspend is the biggest problem.

Thanks for any advice !

Any advantage in getting the wake up from suspend works? I can see that it is good to have this feature when the storage is HD. However, the SSD is so fast that rebooting or turning on the machine does not take that much time.

Working suspend/wake would be a big advantage because you don't have to login and set up all your apps and windows.
