Re: [X1C6/T480s] low cTDP and trip temperature in Linux

Yes, tmp on tmpfs, j10, gcc 7.3 and for mesa I use O3, march native and other options that do not really affect compilation time. For mesa 17.3.9 my time is 4 minutes. USE FLAGS: classic dri3 egl gallium gbm gles2 nptl osmesa vdpau wayland and VIDEO_CARDS: i965 intel
.

This is exact problem I'm having with new T480. Would be nice if Lenovo reacted and solved the issue.

This is affecting me as well, I hope we're able to put some pressure on Lenovo to offer a fix.

Re: [X1C6/T480s] low cTDP and trip temperature in Linux

this effects me as well with a T480.

Ubuntu 18.04

I am getting this messages already at startup:

s.sourceforge.net

And under heavy load (for some seconds):

Jun 6 16:16:45 r013 kernel: [ 337.526669] CPU0: Package temperature/speed normal

I installed https://github.com/erpalma/lenovo-throttling-fix - I think it helps.

The Package temperature jumps quite fast. Sometimes it jumps just for a second above 95 - - I think this is when the message now is triggered. Before the speed was throttled already at not very heavy load....

The patch is working for me but this is not the solution. Lenovo, please take a look at this!

Re: [X1C6/T480s] low cTDP and trip temperature in Linux

Hi,

It affects my T480 as well.

I have a i7-8550U, using Ubuntu 18.04LTS.

I have on the same machine a dualboot with Windows, where it works perfect...

Thanks!
