Are you trying to obtain the Driver for your Nvidia?

Re: anyone install ubuntu on ideapad v570?

Yeah I installed ubuntu 11.10 on my v570. I have the Intel HD3000 instead of the nVidia gpu. I did have some issues.  At first wireless was a problem but I blacklisted the acer_wmi module. After reboot wifi was up. The few issues I had were HDMI out to my televison, APCI (fix this after flashing new BIOS) and resume from screensaver.  Regarding HDMI out, if I mirror the displays it works okay, otherwise it thinks my 46 inch Samsung LCD TV is a 7inch monitor. Resume seems to be an issue with gnome-screensaver and unity.  I didn't check the card read but everything else seemed to work fine.  I would be more assured about running linux on this notebook if all the proper drivers were available.  Maybe some day.
