what is the best distro to use with the Y570 ?

Hello ppl.

 

I would like to know how is the best distro to use with the ideapad Y570 ?

 

The most hardware friend linux to be used with this notebook.

 

I try here the Mint and Puppy fatDog, with problem in the 3D and the Fn+F6 not turn off the touchpad. (the led turn on, touchpad not turn off)

I personally don't know if there's a "best distro"...

I use Fedora, it's all about taste...

 

To solve your 3D problem, I need to know: what is your graphic card? nVidia/ATI?

BTW

 

As far as I know, the GPU in the Y570 isn't supported by the NVIDIA drivers (the PCI ID of the 555M isn't included in the device support readme of the latest driver). It might be supported by Nouveau though.

About the alt+f6 disable touchpad check :
