Moto Connect Connection Failed (700) please try again later.

Greetings, sort of at my wits end here.  Keep running into this error when trying to use Moto connect to finish setting up the moto 360 with my wifes phone.  (Photo attached) At the "Yes im in!" screen when I click accept I keep getting the error in the subject title.  Not sure what to do from here as without connect no idea how to install apps...or change the watch face etc etc.  She got an insanely good deal on the watch but we are about to return the thing if we can't figure this out.  Shame as it seems quite well built for the price as a starter smart watch,
