Moto E Calling: I can hear the caller, but the caller can't hear me.

2021-06-07, 17:16 PM

I have a moto e on android with Visible as a provider.

Here's the problem; whenever I call or am called, I have a minute where the person on the other line can hear me, and I can hear them. Then, after about a minute or so, the person on the other end can't hear me anymore, but I can hear them perfectly clear. If they call me back I have about another minute where they can hear me again. It's not my service; someone else in the house has the same service provider as me and his calls go smoothly. I have tried regular cell calling and wifi calling, same issue occurs. I have tried rebooting the phone, I have tested the microphone and it works perfectly fine according to the phone's diagnostic app. I found an old post that suggested to disable with google's microphone access and that hasn't worked for me. I have only one app that didn't come with the phone, so I deleted it and rebooted the phone.

Nothing seems to be working. Any ideas?

Hi Inneed

Welcome to Motorola Forums. Sorry to know about this and your efforts are highly appreciated in performing troubleshooting steps. I will do my best to help you with this. When did you start facing this? Was it working fine before? Is the network dropping when it happens? Please check and let me know.

Also, can you please test your phone in Safe Mode? Safe Mode starts the device without any third-party applications being started. This will allow you to open apps individually to try and determine which app may be causing the issue.

To go into Safe Mode, press the physical power key, then press and hold the pop-up "Power off" key until the Safe Mode instructions pop up, reboot the device to get back to normal mode. Let us know what you'll find out.
