Moto e4 SD card portable storage options

2019-10-14, 17:28 PM

My moto e4 has an SD card formatted as portable storage. The 3 dot (top right of the screen) options dropdown includes 'Hide internal storage'. When clicked, this changes to 'Show internal storage'. Can someone tell me what this option does, please?

Hi Graham_1956,

We were able to test this on multiple devices. It seems that it does nothing, it does not hide the folders and files in the Internal Storage. Thank you for bringing this concern and we'll pass this along to our support team.

Best regards,
Zeke

Hi Graham_1956,

Thanks for posting. Is this located in the File Manager? If it is, when tapping "Hide Internal Storage" you won't be able to browse and view files located in the internal storage.

Best regards,

Settings > Storage - Portable Storage - tap on SanDisk SD card, tap 3 dots to show drop-down menu (see attached screenshot).

I'm certain that files on internal storage is still viewable even when 'Hide internal storage' is selected.
