Moto G Marshmallow USB

Since the update I have not been able to use my USB connection to add files to my computer. Any suggestions on what is going on ??

On Marshmallow, after you connect the phone to the pc, you have to select the type of connection to it. By default, the phone will only connect on "charging only mode", so you have to open the quick settings menu by swiping down from the top and tap on the usb settings notification, then choose as needed. MTP mode should work.

I can't find any of my old or new pictures on internal or SD card using MTP or PTP usb connection since the upgrade.

Have you check if you can see hidden items on your pc?. On Windows Explorer go to tools>folder options, on the 2nd tab look for the option show hidden folders, files and drives.

 

Also, have you connected the sd card to the pc via adapter?

 

If you do have the option checked, then try a recovery software such as recuva (is free). Be advised, I'm not saying they got deleted but we can try this option aswell.

That helped,but there is still something strange. I see the files but can't move them. I did find another way using a app called "Share' which seems to be doing what I need
