Notification Light not working

2016-03-09, 5:52 AM

I received an update a few days ago. since the update the notification light no longer works.
I have checked the settings, which are fine, tried rebooting, still nothing.
Ver 6.0 , security patch to jan 1/16
Is there a fix??
How do I get light back?

Moto G2

TIA

EDIT  just notice that notification does not work for missed calls but does work for sms.

Sounds like a bug in the OS, I am having the same issue with missed calls but all other notifcations pulse the LED. Many Nexus users have reported the same issue.

My XT1072 updated yesterday, notification led working fine for missed calls ect. But have noticed that unlocking the phone now clears the led flashing - in Lollipop it kept flashing untill you cleared the notification, have not tried it yet - but it may cause a problem if you set your phone to stay unlocked while at home ect.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dan_ru.ProfReminder

This app solves the problem and enables the LED for missed calls.

Another app solving the issue is Truecaller's latest update.

It enabled the LED and Ambient Display for missed calls. The only downside is that it provides 2 notifications for missed calls, one from this app, the other from the default dialer app.

Found a perfect solution after tinkering a bit with both the apps, this solution is as good as stock:

1. If you happen to use Truecaller, then please stick to version 6.60 and do not update to   7.07 as the new update will give double notifications for missed calls and there's no way to remove that but uninstall Truecaller.

2. Instead, install the app for which I've provided a link and create a new notification profile in it to enable LED for missed calls (which will also make Ambient Display work)

I've been using 'Missed Call Reminder' for some time now. When I originally complained about the lost notification light this was suggested by Motorola as a temporary solution until they found a fix.

After this time, I assume they have no intention of fixing the issue.  I hoped for better, hoping that their customer service had improved over the years. In the early eighties their car radios were so unreliable we used to dub them "buy one get one free" as we always had to replace them under warranty.

That will probably influence my decision when it comes time to replace the phone.
