Nougat support

2016-06-30, 20:12 PM
Hello, I'd to know if our beloved Moto G 2nd gen. (XT1063) will receive Android N aka Nougat Support. I hope what I've requested is possible. Regards,

Motorola has not made any announcement regarding which phones will get N. We probably won't see anything until after N is officially released. But if I was a betting person, my personal belief is that the 2nd gen will not get N.

The Moto G 2014 is a great phone. Motorola did the best evolving from the fist Moto G, later Lenovo got Motorola and it is for sure Lenovo has new, different and interesting plans for Moto devices. However I really hope Lenovo takes seriously  the commitment with Motorola's customers and give us a surprise with a last great update with Nougat. I'm sure the Moto G 2014 has the requirements to run the new update and they didn't release the Android 6.0.1 update, so this could be great news.

Please Moto by Lenovo give us support for Nougat.

Interesting article in ComputerWorld

Motorola gets an "F" grade for Marshmallow upgrade

An Android manufacturer has never fallen as fast and hard as what we've seen with Motorola these past couple years. In a matter of months, Moto went from being the shining example of what an Android device-maker should be to being a bitter disappointment Android fans won't soon forgive. (So much for that "nothing will change" transition in ownership, right?)

Silence is only fueling Motorola's Marshmallow meltdown

Since we already got out 2 major Android upgrades, Lenovo should think about giving us a fixed touchscreen driver and 6.0.1 to make this phone "die" as stable.

Moto G 2014 running stock Android 6.0

It won't. However, you can try a custom rom based on 7.0
