These batteries should not be discharged to empty. Older batteries with a " memory " would benefit from that, but these batteries can actually be damaged by it.
On the other hand, since they have no memory, the battery can be topped off at any level, at your convenience. The most popular use case would be to plug it in before you go to bed. Once the battery is at or near 100%, it will slow to a trickle charge. In fact, charging to 100% and leaving it on the charger for several hours more is the method to calibrate the battery.
Topping the battery off when it's convenient will extend the overall life of the battery as well.
We can't know how the battery is performing without knowing how you used it. What does the battery app say? Was the screen on for 5 or 6 hours? Were you playing games? Streaming? How was your signal strength?
With more information, we can help.
Hope you're enjoying your phone!
