The Australian Moto G 2nd Gen (XT1068) is advertised as having dual-band wireless ac on http://www.motorola.com.au/consumers/Moto-G-%282nd.-gen%29/Moto-g-gen2-au,en_AU,pd.html#Moto-g-gen2-specs-au , however my device can't see my router's (TP-Link Archer D7) 5GHz band.
I have tried changing the 5Ghz channel and width manually but without success. My HP Envy laptop has no trouble connecting to the 5GHz band.
Is there anything else I can try? Could it be that my phone is defective?
Thanks for your attention.

Right, thanks for clarifying. A lot of reviewers and retailers have also got it wrong then.
What retailers besides Amazon did you see this info on? We'll work to get it corrected where we're able.

I bought my Moto G from The Good Guys (the only major Australian electronics retailer who sell Moto G now) who list the WiFi spec of MotoG as "802.11 a/b/g/n/ac" http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/buyonline/Motorola_Moto_G_2nd_Gen_-_Unlocked_XT1068#tab2 .
Also Exeltek list the Wifi spec as "Wifi 80211.ac" http://www.exeltek.com.au/motorola-moto-g-2nd-generation-3g-dual-sim-8gb-smartphone-pre-order .
