I purchased my Moto G 2 Generation a week before and I've been facing this issue since day one. My Moto G charges extremely slowly with standard Motorola charger which came with the box. I calculated the precise amount of time it takes to reach from 0% to 100%, but it's somewhere between 5 hours and 6 hours.
What is the normal amount of time to charge the Moto G 2 Generation from 0% to 100%?

Typically it should be about ~4.5 hours for a full charge from 0 to 100% If there is some charge on the phone when you place it on the charger at night you may see it charge in around ~4 hours.
Does this happen in all locations or a specific place where you see it taking longer?
Is the phone doing anything while it is charging? Downloading big files?
Update: Adjusted numbers based on in-box 550 mAh charger. Assumption is that the phone is only in standby mode and there is nothing syncing. Having WiFi, background sync and other actions going on will increase charge time. We're looking to see what other chargers would be compatible to offer a faster charging rate for those who are interested.

Same problem with my phone also. It was taking around 6- 7 hrs for 100% charging and its consuming too much power if i' using wi fi.
It charges faster if WiFi is off?
Is keep Wi-Fi on during sleep turned on?

It charges very slow and consumes more battery when I'm using Wi fi...
No Wi-fi off during sleep
What is the rating on your charger? Can you see Volts/mAh?
