Moto G3 not updating from Android 6.0 to Android 6.0.1

2016-08-04, 12:25 PM

As per the official Motorola website,

https://motorola-global-en-uk.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/110389

Android 6.0.1 was launched for Moto G3 in March 2016. All my friends using Moto G3 were automatically updated to 6.0.1 by April 2016. However, my phone is still on Android 6.0.

I have tried a factory reset and cleared cache. But it didn't help.

For five months, I have been waiting for the bug fixes which came with Android 6.0.1. It just isn't fair that most customers of the same device are upgraded to Android 6.0.1 where I am stuck with Android 6.0.

What can be done in such a situation?

Can I request for a brand new device?

Under settings - about phone - what is your system version?

I asked someone to check. I am not sure why your phone didn't update or if it is eligible.

I can say you won't get a new phone. If your phone is eligible, they will find a way for you to get the update.

Thank you AlphaDog for looking into this. I am very grateful.

I will monitor this thread for your suggestions.

Kind regards.

Hello,

My Moto G3 is also still on 6.0 and does not receive the update to 6.0.1.

My system version is: "24.41.33.osprey_reteu_2gb.reteu.en.EU retgb"

Thank you very much.

I checked - update is rolling out in waves - slowly.  It hasn't been pushed to all yet. No cause for concern.  No timetable either.

You our will just have to be patient and wait until it does reach your phones.

Thanks AlphaDog for letting us know. Just stating the obvious - it is massively dissappointing that some users of the G3 are spending the better part of this year on 6.0 (and possibly the whole year), while most of the users of the same model (G3) were automatically updated to 6.0.1.

What a bummer! Nice going Moto.
