Re: Moto G3 not updating from Android 6.0 to Android 6.0.1

@motog2015_16GB

All those fail because the update has STOPPED apparently. For some reason. This is an Epic Failure for the new Moto company owners. Add also the NO Android 7 update and you get the whole picture.

Re: Moto G3 not updating from Android 6.0 to Android 6.0.1

IMEI added to my profile. Android still has not updated past 6.0, even on a second Canadian domestic carrier.

Not that getting the issue fixed now will change my purchasing decision in future- it's clear that Lenovo/Motorola have gutted their update program.

By comparison, my new iPhone has had 5 updates in 3 months.

So if you don't care about security updates, or bug fixes, or just enjoy gambling with your money and personal data, buy a Motorola phone and see what happens.

Re: Moto G3 not updating from Android 6.0 to Android 6.0.1

I don't really understand. If no one (for example) in UK has got 6.0.1 update, how myself that have a UK (GB) phone in Greece i will get an update if my IMEI is checked ?

Is that a JOKE or what ?

Please stop this and simply tell is the truth about it. Be honest. We bought your phones and gave you our money and trust (me, for the second time the last 3 years).

The Moto X pure and X Style are on 6.0 as well. 6.0.1 fixes some issues and causes others, so be careful what you wish for.

Re: Moto G3 not updating from Android 6.0 to Android 6.0.1

Putting this simplistically...

  • We pretty much all seem to have the Moto G 2015 2/16 model which hasn't had Android 6.0.1 pushed to it.
  • Moto themselves confirmed on their website that this update was going to be available for all users of the Moto G 2015.
  • There must be a check box on the update distribution server that's been missed for our device configuration.
  • Could someone go into the control panel and put a tick in the box?

Lastly, whilst I certainly do appreciate Moto support staff confirming earlier in this thread that they have raised the issue, a little more transparency and a further post to confirm a resolution is in the pipeline wouldn't go amiss. The build for our phone must be ready for distribution so there surely wouldn't be a need to take precious engineer time away from rolling out Nougat to newer devices?

As I said, I'm putting this very simplistically (and I do know there will be much more to it), but search this forum or Google 'Moto G2015 2/16 6.0.1' and you have LOTS of threads returned across numerous sites from upset customers who haven't received this update.

I had the XT1541 1/8GB model and it DID get 6.0.1

I then passed that device on and bought the higher spec XT1541 2/16GB model and haven't had the update nearly 7 months after the 1/8GB model did.
