Disable empty sim notification

2014-05-28, 7:52 AM

 Hi,

I've just got a new Moto G XT1033 (16GB) in Hong Kong.  I have plans to use the dual sim when travelling abroad, but currently just have my local Hong Kong sim card.

Currently the phone shows 2 icons on the notification bar for the empty sim (empty sim & no signal).  Is there a setting to turn off these notifications to save space on the bar?

I've tried: "settings->Dual Sim settings" but don't see an option to disable.

Thanks

Chris

Hey Chris,

There is no option provided in the stock ROM. I don't think a different launcher would help, either. Sorry!

Cheers,

Nciole

 Nicole,

Thanks for the quick response.

That's a shame, guess I'll just have to live with it then!

Aside from this minor problem, liking the phone very much.

Chris

Sorry for bumping this thread, but I also dislike having 2 unused icons in the status bar, I only got the dual SIM version because there is no single SIM 16 GB version in Romania, but having the option to completely disable dual SIM features would be nice, at least hidden somewhere, at least disabling the 2 useless icons in the status bar...

Thank you.

Thank you, I really am not the only one getting the dual sim variant because of lack of options in the area, and I am not willing to unlock my bootloader just for 2 icons...
It would be really nice if there was a "careful" option in developer menu to completely disable dual sim function, including the toggle and stuff like that.

I am very pleased with this phone, so optimised, incredible.

It seems like the disabled icon has gone in the new version. Just received the ota in Hong Kong.

Thanks!
