I have been trying to silence the camera shutter sound from my new Moto G without success. Even if the phone is completely silent in its settings, and the shutter sound setting is set to off in the camera application, the shutter sound still comes up rather loudly. This is a problem because I work in a silent environment and I need to take photos of business cards.
The phone was bought from the Motorola website and is the global GSM version running Kitkat 4.4.2.

Thank you for your reply.
I have read that webpage already. As I wrote, I've already tried the camera settings but it doesn't work, it ignores the setting completely.

Do you have any apps on the phone that use the camera? If so, they could be interfering with the shutter sound settings. The way to test that theory would be to boot the phone into safe mode and shoot a few pictures.

crystallet, thank you for your recommendation.I was not aware you could do that with android (this is my first android phone).
After I found out how to do so, I booted in safe mode and tried the camera again. Unfortunately, the sound persists after trying all possible combinations from the camera app and phone sound settings. Even if the phone is completely muted or in vibrate mode, the sounds comes up, whatever the setting from the camera app.
I am guessing this is primarily a software issue. Am I really the only one having this problem?
