AP Fastboot Flash mode - Volume down key broken

2015-04-15, 0:00 AM

My volume down key is broken and not knowing that i would have to use it to boot up my phone I booted into safe mode.  Does anyone know how to boot up my phone from ap fastboot flash mode without using the volume down key?

Why do you need to get to the bootloader?

Same stuck in AP Fastboot Flash Mode.  It says volume up select, volume down scroll, but that is obviously not the case as volume up only scrolls, hence the problem, and the power button just turns the screen on and off, it doesn't select anything

So the volume key is broken and stuck in then? There may not be a way to get the phone to boot into regular mode if that is what you are trying to do.

Yeah. I'll just have to bite the bullet and get a repair then?

If the volume down key is stuck pushed in than it will be very hard to go anywhere other than the fastboot screen. You will need to get the volume down key pulled out to the off position.

How did the volume key break? Is it something that would be covered under warranty?

At first i tried prying part of the case off the back of the phone to try and see if i could pull the volume rocker out and get to the buttons underneath, but i didn't want to take the risk.  it just fell out of my pocket and it landed on the corner of a chair.  My warranty is out so if i want to get it fixed I'll have to shell out $100
