Gyroscope Problem! Phone Listing to one side.

2014-07-26, 21:16 PM

I have recently made a google cardboard and have been using it with my moto x a decent amount. One thing that I noticed is when in portrait the phones view will continually shift to the left. I have tried to fix this my resetting accelerometer and the gyroscope. Doing this fixes the problem until i move the phone again. Has anyone ran into this issue and if so how did you fix it.

Thanks!

I am guessing you have tried GPS Status type program to calibrate the sensors?

I have not had this issue but know there is a calibration option in GPS Status.

I have the exact same problem... I realized it with Cardboard too. The image move to the right on my case... If I orient the phone vertically the image slide to the left. If I orient it diagonally  " \ " it stays still.

So how to fix it? I'm sure we could apply a software correction somehow... Motorola should acknowledge the problem first.

Thanks

As mentioned above, have you tried one of the compass or GPS programs that can be used to calibrate the compass and gyroscope?

I have RMA my phone... didn't find any gyroscope calibration app for Moto X... I did look for it but didn't find anything. Please provide links so people can try it if that really exist for our phone.

Hi folks!

If you are having issues with gyroscopeand you already tried to reset accelometer and gyroscope or tried already one of the compass or GPS programs that can be used to calibrate the compass and gyroscope (we cannot provide you the name of any third party app, since we do not support them, but we can recommend you that you can choose the one with the best rate) Please, try the following:

-Try to un-check  "Auto rotate" if it is checked, turn the phone off and back on again, and re-check auto-rotate.

-Try Safe Mode, if the issue persists on safe mode, please, try a wipe cache partition, if that does not help, please try to reset the phone to factory settings.

Please let us know if the issues persist!

Best regards,

Suny
