Missing keys in my virtual keyboard

2017-03-16, 12:51 PM

Starting about last week, most text entry areas are now missing three keys on my phones keyboard. Spacebar, shift, and the enter key. When I move to a password entry field it switches to the style with the extra number row on top, and I get all of the buttons back. But in a normal text field none of them exist. I have not installed any keyboard beyond what comes basic with the phone, but I haven't been able to find anything so far on this in my searches. Any assistance is much appreciated.

Hi Kalriostraz,

Can you verify the current Android version that you have on your device? Is it possible that you take a photo of your keyboard with keys missing as you mentioned?

Thanks

Certainly Anne,

I'm currently on Android version 5.1. I've attached a photo I took of my screen while I had the address bar selected in Google Chrome, although I would note this IS an issue across all of my programs. Also, if I touch the "?123" button, I'm able to get my spacebar and enter key back, thankfully.

Thank you.

Hi Kalriostraz,

In addition to that, you can also clear the data in your Google keyboard. Go to Settings > Apps > Slide to All > Select Google keyboard > Then tap Clear data. Let me know if it works.
