Much less customization. No active display, no active listening. Simplified processor.

Re: Why does the Moto X get no love?

The Moto X outperformed pretty much all of the 2013 flagships powered by the Snapdragon 600 (HTC One M7, Galaxy S4, etc.) because the GPU wasn't powerful enough to drive a 1080p screen in actual 3D applications (games and such) and Motorola knew that.

For all intents and purposes, the Moto X uses a dual-core Snapdragon 600 marketed as an Snapdragon S4 Pro. That caused way too much confusion and made people believe it shipped with a 2012 processor/GPU. It didn't. It's a 2013 design (Krait 300 and 2nd gen Adreno 320). The benchmarks did prove that, but real world usage also proved that specs aren't everything - it's the whole package.

I am just ready for the successor to the Moto X to arrive. Along with the Moto 360 of course.

This and this. Lenovo business partner here. Can't wait to see what they do to keep Moto moving onwards and upwards.

I personally don't feel to bad about not getting the 4.4.4 update yet. From what I've read on regards to the soak test on Moto X on other carriers it seems to have some battery issues. I'm very happy with my battery life currently and my camera performs extremely well I think. I'm very curious about Android L though.

Actually it got mostly positive reviews. It's just that sales people in stores steer people to the more expensive phones which give them a higher commission. And too many of us geeks obsess over specs.

From what i can tell the Moto X is a phone one has to experience to truly appreciate. I may be crazy, but I just ordered one. Techradar and Pocketnow both did a revisit. Both gave it great reviews. In fact Techradar (youtube video) upgraded it's rating from 4 to 4.5 out of five. It's a shame that's it's such a tech driven rather than user driven industry. I guess I'll find out in a week or so. Yes it's successor is days away. But at $350 come on.

The price point is really hard to complain about isn't it? It is such a good phone for the money.
