camera is unable to initializate

When I twist my phone and it is locked I get the following issue message:camera is unable to initializate. Does anyone know how to solve it!

Hello Marcioqrz, May I ask if you are able to shake and use the camera if the phone is not locked?



What you can try to do in order to fix the problem is: 



  • Go to settings.


  • Tap on apps.


  • Silde your finger to the left untill you see the option "ALL" at the top of the screen. 


  • From "ALL" look for Camera and tap it.


  • From the camera tap on: Clear cache and Clear Data and disable.


  • Tap on Ok when you receive the message in order to disable the app, once you do that enable the camera again.


  • Please reboot the phone and try the camera application again.

Hello.
I started experience the same problem "camera unable to initialize" error since I started using a stock XT926 Droid Razr HD Maxx with latest verizon firmware 4.4.2 182.46.10.XT926.Verizon.en.US
Before I used XT912 Maxx on 4.1 and never seen such a problem. XT912 is still in my posession and I can confirm there is no issue with it.
You can see many people around complaining about the same (sometimes being on different devices). In my case error may appear but camera would still work.
I can see there is active issue logged at google code and Google admitted issue valid but they will only be providing fix for their nexus family -https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=70755
In post #171 there is an appeal of google dev for everyone to contact their device manufacturer for a fix.
Now Motorola, I clearly appeal you to provide a fix for this issue. Please don't ask to wipe system cache or run android in safe mode. It DOES NOT SOLVE this issue. If you may need my further help or testing please reach me onn my email or here.
Hopefully this will also help people experiencing this on their Moto's.
