Re: Official Lollipop (Android 5.x) News here

2015-01-30, 20:38 PM

This is coming from https://forums.motorola.com/comment/872915. I dont think this is a lollipop 5.0 thing. It´s a 5.0.2 thing which btw should fix all the bugs you have let pass on your crappy soak tests. Yes, we want to know when 5.0.2 is coming out.

Yes, I have lost my patience with this company, I got some of  my christmas videos blurred, and you know my child is not going to be 2 anymore. This is, by far, the worst phone I have had. And the "reboot the router solutions" I use to read in the forums  are... well... speechless.

Yes, if you want answers better get them in XDA: (removed link) head to page 5 or 6 for some more info.

BTW the camera app listed there fixes "almost" all the lag in the front camera and the autofocus on video it´s a little better. It´s from a soak test so I suppose the stupid asses will try to remove it. If they do it and are interested send me a private.

The crappy jpeg compression artifacts and low light noise from hell is still there anyway. In that thread above you can see even the engineers at moto think this is shit.

"hope this helps cheeky"

edited by joelbon. posting links to downloading Moto apk's is against house rules. These should only be installed on the phone if they are made available to you through an update or the Play Store.

Re: Official Lollipop (Android 5.x) News here

I am starting to get frustrated with the wait for 5.0, I got this phone over the pure as I figured it would get it's updates almost as quickly however that definitely is not the case. I'm all for making sure a stable build is released however the Moto X on Verizon got it's 5.0 build months ago and now the SGS5 on Verizon has 5.0 rolling out. I know Motorola needs to customize, optimize and fix bugs in the source but the beast that is touchwiz is much larger.....yet Samsung got a "stable" 5.0 build out on Verizon. It's just sad that this is the situation.....this phone came out in September? and it's already February without a single firmware update. I am more upset that there hasn't been an interm update which could have fixed some of the outstanding bugs, maybe improved some drivers, etc.....but instead we've gotten nothing but silence from AT&T. At the very least they should communicate something so we aren't just blindly waiting.....this whole experience has definitely soured me on ever buying another AT&T carrier branded phone. Going forward I plan on buying only Pure Edition, Developer Edition or Nexus phones.

Is there any way to revert back to Kit Kat until all of the bugs are fixed. My VZW Moto X 2014 has become a pain to use. I loved how fast and how well all of the features worked on KK. I am well versed on rooting and flashing, but since there are so many issues with this update is there anything being done to make our phones less painful to use? I'm seriously considering going back to my G3 which is way more stable than my Moto X on 5.0.

Really , What kind of problems are you having ? MyVZW Moto X 2014 has been rock solid on 5.0  and I use my phone for everything.

People complain that updates take to long to be released but those people who complain about it taking to long r the same people who complain when they receive the update and its full of bugs because it was released to early. If u can't or won't be patient then u really shouldn't have an Android phone or any cell phone, period, IMO.

Just my two cents.

If you can tell us what isn't working for you, we may be able to help figure out the problem.  Like @dex74, my VZW X2 has been smooth since going to 5.0.  I'm not saying that it's perfect, but it's stable and reliable and fast with just a few minor things that don't interfere with usage.

Re: Official Lollipop (Android 5.x) News here

I am also really frustrated without lollipop in my moto x 2014, but recently I got news from insiders.
They give me sign that moto x 2014 will receive updates shortly in February may be 1 or 2 week form now.
On asking questioning from my side they give some quite reasonable indirectly answers like,
1. Moto g receiving lollipop updates why not my us cellular version moto x 2014?
Ans: updates are already available, if you have retial version.

2. Why this atnt, us cellular and etc. Are not giving updates?
Ans: as you know, lollipop's first release is really buggy. so may be these providers are not to give cheap version to users. And also possible they will provide direct 5.1.0 instead of 5.0.2

Please note: this is not officially announced. Just get news after talk with few insiders who also not give this info directly to me.
