Power control widget missing

2015-02-20, 17:48 PM

My MotoX XT1095 is missing power control widget after upgrading to android 5.0. I believe since lollipop has new setting option from notification bar could be reason but later i found same widget on my nexus 7 5.0.2. Is there any way we can side load this widget? I tried most of the third party toggle widgets on app store but nothing close to stock one.

If you find a legitimate way to side load the widget, let me know.  I'm peeved that it's still on my Nexus 7 but missing from my X2, just like you.  It works.  It's convenient.  It's efficient.  I want it back, too.     :-)

I did a quick search, and while some of the Google Play widget apps seem to come close, a lot of them say they are not yet compatible or optimized for Lollipop.

You do know that a two finger pull on the notification bar will bring up the settings screen, right?

I also searched for the apk in case someone was able to separate it out.  Nada...

This might help a bit:  you can now toggle certain settings (wifi, bluetooth, flashlight) and by using voice commands.  Article here.

Hopefully the other commands will get voice activation as well soon.  According to that article, voice commands for "Airplane mode, Location, Brightness, and Volume still send you to their settings tabs. NFC and Data aren't even recognized as triggers."

I recreated the power widget using Tasker Task widgets.

I'm with the OP on this one, especially since we both use two different Lollipop devices, one with the widget and one without.

Every alternative on this one feels like a workaround: extra steps to perform what used to be just one tap.

It just worked, and I miss it.   :-(

Power Toggles should do a similar thing. I have not yet upgraded to Lollypop (at&t gen 2 moto X) so I can't check. But it has worked for me for a long time. It can also provide customized toggles within the "one-finger" pulldown which was cool as well.

I am with drago on this one. Power Toggles does work on Lollipop and will give you a customized for you experience that will work in the same way. I hope this helps.
