Lollipop Factory Image for XT1060

2015-09-15, 20:05 PM

I apologize if there has already been a thread about this, but I would really appreciate it if you guys (Motorola) would add the latest Lollipop fastboot factory recovery images to the factory image page for the Moto X Developer Editions:

https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/recovery-images

I have an XT1060 Developer Edition and I really need the factory image ASAP.  I made the mistake of deleting the VzwPhoneService.apk in /system (which was fine to do on previous builds) but that gave me a endlessly recurring "android.phone.service has stopped" pop-up message.  It is not possible to downgrade the bootloader or partition by flashing the latest available factory images that you provide so I am in a pickle until the new factory image is available on your website.

Thank you!  If there is any way for you to expedite these files to me I would REALLY appreciate it.

Still waiting for verizon lollipop factory image for 1st gen moto x.  Current 4.4.4 install keeps telling me my software is up to date but I guess that's a problem with Verizon.

There won't be a release for the Verizon Lollipop factory image. The only factory image that will be released is for the Moto X pure edition. The other variants are not up for bootloader unlocking, so there won't be a factory image released.

I have seen cases where people had to FDR in order to get an upgrade. Also, if you have modded your phone in any way then you will need to make sure that you are 100% stock before the upgrade will work. At this point, I am leaning toward an FDR to get you moving. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply.  I did re-install the 4.4.4 factory image but I don't remember if I did a factory reset.  I'll give FDR a try.

How come the VZW lollipop Developer Edition is "not up for bootloader unlocking"?

Joelbon, we're you talking about the "regular" Verizon model, not the Verizon Developer Edition (DE)? Because in the first gen Moto x, it was called DE instead of Pure Edition, and the DE were indeed bootloader unlockable without voiding warranty.

You are correct. I get confused about Pure and DE. I haven't owned them, so i always forget. The Pure and DE versions of Moto phones are bootloader unlockable. The carrier versions aren't. I should have made that clearer in my comment. Hope this helps.

I wonder if it is possible to install xt1053 factory image on Verizon xt1060. If so what the implications would be?

Re: Lollipop Factory Image for XT1060

So I'm hunting for the 5.1 factory image for the XT1060 (Verizon Developer Edition Moto X) and chat told me to call support, level 2 told me I have to post to a forum, so here I am...

Where is the 5.1 factory image for the XT1060 (VZW DEV)? I see it for the GSM phone, but only 4.4.4 or lower for the XT1060. It's a developer phone, the bootloader is unlockable. Where's the factory image for 5.1?

Chat support told me I can't downgrade with the 4.4.4 factory image and then go back to 5.1. Why can't I? I'd rather just flash 5.1 directly.
